The CROWN Act House of Representatives win represents a major step toward ending hair-based discrimination on a federal level.

In most places across the country, hair-based discrimination has remained completely legal.

Support for this bill comes largely from Democrats, passing 235-189along party lines.

Currently, the Senate issplit 50-50with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as a tie-breaking vote when needed.

This time around, the bill has a much stronger chance of becoming law.

Now, its one step closer to becoming federal law.
